Aerocoat® Insulation Coating is intended to provide UV protection to AEROFLEX EPDM™ closed-cell elastomeric insulation when installed outdoors.

Aerocoat may also be installed in interior environments for decorative purposes or when AEROFLEX will be exposed to UV rays through glass curtain walls.

Aerocoat consists of a water-based acrylic formulation. When the coating is accidentally spilled, the following clean up and removal options are recommended:

  1. When coating is still wet, remove with warm water and a pH-neutral soap (i.e. dishwashing liquid).
  2. When coating is dried and hardened, the following solvent-based removers are suggested (in no particular order):
    1. Isopropyl rubbing alcohol (70%+)
    2. Ammonia diluted with water (1:1 ratio)
    3. Acetone

CAUTION: When considering the use of the above removers, check with the affected surface manufacturer (i.e. roofing material, carpet) first, then test an inconspicuous area to ensure that the remover does not physically or visually degrade the material. Aeroflex USA will not be held liable for any damages that occur when Aerocoat is accidentally spilled and/or removed.
